Network Performance

Network performance is directly dependent upon the quality of the underlying physical infrastructure. Robust copper, fiber, and wireless infrastructure ensure the availability of mission critical applications. And, while physical infrastructure represents a small fraction of total IT spend, it disproportionately impacts network up time.

Maximizing Up Time. Minimizing Long-Term Risks.
By planning effective pathways, utilizing field proven materials, and drawing on our depth of successful project experience we guide clients through the network planning process and allow them to avoid the traps and pitfalls which can degrade network performance over time.

Preventing Intermittent Failure
Intermittent network problems are difficult to diagnose and require the time of highly skilled network engineers and field technicians to diagnose. Unfortunately, most intermittent failure can be traced to poor performance at Layer 1 (physical infrastructure). High attenuation on a single cable can cause VPN packets to drop, which can collapse entire tunnels and interrupt all users at a location. Ensuring network reliability depends upon more than just providing a certification test at the end of a project. Many variables along the entire cable path can impact network performance on an intermittent basis. H&M NetWorks relies upon skilled designers, trained technicians, and our decades of experience to prevent these issues.

Grounding
Over the last few years, chips in active network electronics have become much smaller, and green initiatives have led manufacturers to use ever lower voltages. These trends make grounding an extremely critical part of infrastructure installations. Today's network electronics are extremely susceptible to stray voltage introduced into poorly grounded cabling systems, racks, and cabinets. Where poor grounding exists, traditional redundancy strategies fail to ensure IT reliability because all equipment can be affected simultaneously. Proper grounding and bonding requires specialized training and equipment, which H&M NetWorks is able to provide to clients.

Safety
Our safety programs are designed to keep everyone safe. This includes client employees and the general public. We strive every day to be the safest contractor in the industry. Our safety program is recognized nationally, and we hold a safety leadership role in organizations across many industries. By implementing our comprehensive safety program at every job site we are able to maintain extremely low rates of accidents and injuries. Clients recognize the value of our safety program because it protects employees and customers while reducing liability.
